Wood Cutting Edge Technology

Here at ECMS technology is all around. One of the newest and most advanced is our wood cutting machine! It is able to cut out of a block of wood almost anything created on a CAD program. The Formula 1 Team uses this machine to cut out their cars. The owner of the machine, Mr.Stillwell, says that the machine can take between 1 to 2 hours to finish a design, depending on how complicated it is. It can cut out any object smaller than 8 by 8 by 15. It plugs into the wall for electricity, so it can go on for as long as it needs to. It uses 220 volts and is very powerful. It has an interesting structure. (See above.) The block rests on a rotating metal stand. There's a drill/saw attatched to a large motorized cutter. The cutter moves backward, forward, left, and right. It cuts out different sides by letting the stand rotate. It uses a CAD drawing and a program to figure out where to cut. This is all enclosed inside a safe glass shield, so it's not dangerous.The blocks start out as, well, blocks.(Below.) They can go from that to a finished product, like a car. (Below.)
